Gold leaching

Sodium cyanide is widely used in the gold leaching process. In this process, after the gold is crushed and broken, it comes into contact with an aqueous solution containing sodium cyanide. The sodium cyanide reacts chemically with the blonde hair in the gold deposits to form gold cyanide ions, which are then dissolved out. This process is known as cyanide leaching and is an important step in gold mining.

Gold extraction

After cyanide leaching, a solution containing gold is collected and further treated to precipitate gold from the solution. In this process, sodium cyanide is used as a precipitating agent, it reacts with gold chloride ions to form gold cyanide, and then the gold is extracted from the gold cyanide by various methods.

In addition to gold, sodium cyanide can also be used to leach metals from other metal ores. For example, after the cyanide leaching of silver ore, sodium cyanide can be used as an extraction agent to precipitate silver out of the solution.
